Hey Queens! Meet Jasmine Thomas | J. Thomas Artistry, LLC

What’s the name of your business or organization? J. Thomas Artistry, LLC

Why did you start your business or organization? I started my business because I wanted to begin to walk in my purpose and use all of the gifts and talents that God has given me. One of those having to do with makeup and my love for the beauty industry. My goal through makeup is to encourage, uplift, inspire and empower women.

How are you helping people with your business or organization? I provide a luxury makeup experience by providing the services to the client in the comfort of their own home or location of choice. This allows the client to have a stress free pre-event experience. There are some stigmas around makeup and my goal is to not only do a makeup application but to also educate my clients on what makeup is and the process of the application. This allows the client to feel more comfortable and builds trust. Providing a makeup application to my clients leaves the client with feeling more confident, beautiful, and excited about their upcoming event. Celebrity Makeup Artist and business woman Sonia Kashuk states that “Putting on makeup is like putting on a pair of high heels. It gives you confidence and makes you feel more in control” and I believe that whole heartedly.

What is the significance of your business or organization? I provide soft glam and natural makeup applications. My goal is to only enhance my client’s natural beauty and not alter the integrity of their natural features by giving them a polished look. Being a mobile makeup artist gives the client one less thing to stress about prior to their event. Once the services are completed the only thing left for the client is to head to their event. This process alleviates, as much as possible, the stress of having to leave from my business location, arrive home to get dressed and then leave to fight through traffic to their event. I not only provide a service but I also like to provide a memorable experience that makes the start of whatever event the client is headed to that much better and even more exciting. I never want any of my clients to feel like just another makeup appointment. My clients enjoy morning mimosas or a glass of champagne to celebrate their event depending upon the time of their appointment.

What motivates you to continue in your business or organization? This is a great question. Honestly, God and my family. When God gives you purpose, he has already made a way for you. Knowing that and trusting in that is motivating. My husband has been successfully self-employed as a graphic designer for over 10 years. He has been through it all; the ups and downs of entrepreneurship and the great rewards that it brings. He is my biggest fan, mentor and encourager. Together we have three small children, two girls and a boy. Children learn by what they see and not always by what you tell them. My children get to see me working towards a dream step by step and see that anything is possible. Their father and I are their first example of that and it gives them the blueprint. For my daughters it allows them to see a woman do something amazing and empowers them to do the same or more one day in whatever career field or route that they choose to go. I allow my children, especially my daughters to be involved in the process and it gives them joy. They watch me put my kits together for clients and sometimes help me organize and sort my items. They are my biggest critics and my greatest support. They will tell me “no mommy I don’t like that look” or “mommy you are an amazing makeup artist, keep doing that!” and that is what motivates me and keeps me going.

Do you have any upcoming events to share? I am currently running an August makeup special that gives $10 off any makeup application. I will also be announcing a makeup giveaway in September so be on the lookout for that!
